In this year, our SSDB 2021 tagline is Together Everyone Achieve More (TEAM). During this pandemic, we managed to establish a new partnership with Allium Care center. Our school launched the SSDB project on 22nd April 2021 and parents are invited to celebrate this occasion with us via Zoom platform. Both K1 and K2 children put up songs and dances to celebrate the launch event.
The K1 children danced to the song of Teams from Hi-5.
The K2 children performed the song ‘The More We Get Together’ using sign language.
Next, we also asked parents to donate unwanted white cotton t-shirts or cloth to do up the flower pounding patchwork which is also known as ‘The Patchwork of Love’. This patchwork was presented to the Allium Care organization.
The children got to experienced the flower pounding technique with the usage of hammer, leaves and flowers.
Skyler from K2 was trying out the flower pounding technique on a piece of cloth.
Alysha from K2 enjoyed the flower pounding process.
Lastly, we did an online Zoom performance for the elderly from Allium Care centre. The K1 and K2 children put on the wonderful performance that was interactive and engaging!
Our school principal Mrs Yeo had an opening speech with the Allium Care centre.
The K1 children were directing simple stretching exercises with some light music to the elderly.
