This year, we chose the topic “Every drop counts”. All the children and staff were decked in blue to launch The Start Small Dream Big project at Sunflower Preschool @ Pasir Ris on 30 April 2021.
The children were engaged in story telling entitled “All the water is mine”. After which, they brainstormed on what they knew on the importance of water through a KWL. They shared some interesting anecdotes on how they saved water at home.
The younger children explored different ways of saving water in school by washing their hands using a scooping instead of turning on the tap. They also tried to spray some water for the plants.
The older children were tasked to transport water from one point to another without spilling it. This was to let them experience the difficulty our grandparents faced during water rationing. They had to collect water in containers and bring back home in order for the rest to use.
It was indeed a fun launch party learning ways to save water and to experience water rationing. 😄
