On the eve of Labour Day, 30th April 2024, we introduced and launched our Start Small Dream Big Project to our Nursery 2 to Kindergarten children - Caring for the Elderly.
We went through the lifecycle of a human to make the understand that each one of us will grow old one day.
We shared that the elderly are just like their grandparents whom we need to be attentive and provide care as they aged.
We read a story titled - My Favourite Days by Illo Picto. Through the story, we highlighted the various activities the children can do with their grandparents and the elderly. We also highlighted that the elderly is a generation who have many years of experience in helping to build the community to how it is today.
To show our appreciation to the elderly who continuously contribute to our society, we prepared a goodie bag (filled with apple, packets of oats, wheat cracker, low-fat cream milk and a paper rose) to present it to the elderly in our neighbourhood.
As the quote goes, “We are lucky to have such thoughtful, experienced and motivating generation with us who is always there for us to guide us.”
