For this year, Little Footprints Preschool @ Y865 embarked on the “Start Small Dream Big Project” to spread a simple message on the awareness of “Giving Back To the Community”.
This may include for the people in the neighbourhood who has shown continuous effort in taking care of the cleanliness of the environment. In this way, we have chosen to stay connected with the people in the community by showing our deepest gratitude towards their endless effort. This project is solely done by the K1s and the K2s.
The K1 children brainstormed and contributed ideas in their hand-made banner in welcoming the “Start Small Dream Big Project 2021” launch. Everyone gave a ‘little touch’ which finally transformed into a beautiful and colourful banner! All the K1 children worked in a team and enjoyed creating the banner together.
The K2 children also customised their banners for the launch. They shared and discussed ideas with the teachers for the banner-making project and definitely had so much fun in expressing the creativity in their own ways! They drew self-potraits to represent themselves on the banner itself.
We then began the launch by explaining what this project is about to the children.
They reflected on how COVID-19 started and how it affected many people in Singapore. Then they also shared how cleanliness plays a part too which came to an idea where they agreed and felt that the people in the community are important.
