As a conclusion to our project, Bright Kids @ Pasir Ris hosted a Fund-Raising Carnival to spread what the kids have learnt and also make a difference to the community. We chose The World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as they were our partner for this project. They also provided an exhibition panel for display, enhancing our efforts to raise awareness.
The N2 to K2 children also created displays that documented what they have learnt. This became part of the exhibition as well. Each class came up with at least three items for sale. These items include handmade pouches, tote bags, magnets, candles and many more. As it was a carnival, teachers were roped in to create games that raises awareness on the effects of fishing and the extinction of marine animals. For instance, teachers created games such as fishing, pinning the whale and feeding the dugongs.
Through this meaningful project and event, we hope that we have been successful in raising awareness in the community. We also hope that the children in our care feel a sense of responsibility towards the environment around them. This event would not be successful without the support of our teachers, children, families as well as members of the public that came to support!
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something!
