Prior to the launch party of ‘Start Small Dream Big 2018’ (SSDB 2018), teachers and children worked together to plan and prepare for the event.
We had also invited Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS), one of our collaboration partners, parents, grandparents and their domestic helpers to join us for our SSDB 2018 Launch Party on 6 April 2018.
On 6 April 2018 (Friday), the Launch Party commenced with an opening speech given by our teacher to share about:
-
An overview of SSDB
-
Our theme “We Care” where we will be extending our helping hands to the community such as working closely with CPAS for helping their students to integrate into mainstream schools; and
-
The objectives of our upcoming SSDB 2018 projects
After the speech, our children started their song and dance performance with guitar and maracas accompaniment by our parents’ volunteers.
For the first performance, we had our Kindergarden 2 students performing the song, ‘Kindness’ which the lyrics talked about how we can look for ways to help others.
Next performance, our Nursery students performed the song ‘Listen to the Water’ where the lyrics talked about how water is a natural resource and how it is very important to us (Environmental Awareness).
Thereafter, our Kindergarden One students did a performance by singing a ‘Recycling Song’ on how we can help to save the earth that everyone can play their part and sort their waste into the recycle bins accordingly. Besides, the Kindergarden One students also did a ‘Kindness Pledge’ for being kind and showing respect to everyone.
After all children’s performances, everyone gathered for a countdown to mark the launch of SSDB 2018.
After the countdown with pop and blow, we sang a song “Start Small Dream Big” song and dance together before ending our Launch Party.
