SSDB Reflections

At the end of the project, the children were invited to share their reflections on the project in front of the class. After which, they created a poster to show what they had learnt.

Over the course of the project, the children learnt how much time and effort it took for them to grow vegetables for consumption, which reinforced the idea that waste has to be reduced. They also learnt that chemicals harmful towards the environment in the form of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides can be avoided through the use of composted material deriving from dead leaves, natural pest control methods such as placing netting over their vegetables to protect them from bugs, and manual weeding to control unwanted weeds in their garden. The children collected rainwater to water plants, reducing the amount of water used in their agricultural adventure.
