27 April 2018 was the launch party for our centre. We started off our launch by doing a mass dance, The Chicken Dance. Children from Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 were involved in the dance while we had audiences from our Infants, Toddlers and Nursery 1 children. The purpose of the dance was to introduce our theme which is “Be Kind to Animals”.
The children had a blast dancing to The Chicken Dance.
Prior to the launch day, the children have been briefed about the SSDB project. Teachers have shown them the SSDB package that the centre had received. They were very excited about the package and so we decided to do the pledge cards. Children wrote their pledges on ways they can be kind to animals.
We hope that through this project, the children will learn the importance of respect and empathy especially to those with no voices of their own.
