SSDB Launch: ‘It Takes A Village’
PCF Sparkletots Tampines North Blk 443/444 had their SSDB launch party on 19th April 2023! With this year’s theme being ‘Many Helping Hands, Caring for Everyone’, we felt that it was a good time for us to show some love and support to the unsung heroes around us; the caregivers! The objective of our project is to not only show support and care towards the caregivers, but at the same time, educate and raise awareness on children with special needs. This project would not only allow children to learn more about kindness, compassion and empathy, but at the same time, how they show support to children/people with special needs and what it means for Singapore to be an inclusive society. Also, as the children learn about this, they will also understand the significance and the role of a caregiver. Hence, the name of the project ‘It Takes A Village’; to care for a child requires more than the efforts of one person.
During our SSDB launch party, we talked about what is the SSDB project, who we will be collaborating with and what the project entails. The children also shared how they felt about embarking on this project. Some said that they were excited to start as they want to help out and show their love and concern to others.
Through this project, not only do we want to educate and raise awareness, we want to show the caregivers that they are loved, appreciated and supported.
The children of TN443 are eager and elated to embark on this Start Small Dream Big project!
