On 22nd April, we launched our Start Small, Dream Big project with our Kindergarten 2 children. We had such fun brainstorming ideas and how we can reach out to the different groups of people through our project.
To kick start the project, we listened and learnt a new song, ‘Roll over the ocean, roll over the sea’. This song introduced children to the word ‘community’ and they learnt that community is made up of ‘you’ and ‘me’.
They then brainstormed what ‘Community’ means to them and the people they know who made up the community.
Next, they grouped the different occupations into different categories for further discussion in the next sessions. Children came up with the term ‘Angels and Santa Clause’ as these different occupations made up of community helpers and front liners are our ANGELS and Santa Clauses as, without them, our lives will be dull and affected. Community helpers also help us when we are in need.
Look at our happy faces!
Look out for more details to come!
