The K1 and K2 children had their launch party on Friday, 26th April 2019, sharing about their food poster that they had done at home with their parents as part of parental involvement assignment to introduce the topic to children.
Children were also taught on the food pledge that teachers came up with about “Love food, avoid waste”. They showed understanding about how much they should love food and always finish up their portion of food so as not to waste. They were also aware that children in poor countries are not as fortunate as they hardly have luxurious or basic food to eat for their meals. Therefore, at all times they have to be reminded of how fortunate they are and that they have to be thankful for having proper food for their meals.
Here goes the pledge:
We, the children of MFS CCK04, pledge ourselves to reduce food waste. I will eat my leftovers of food and eat smart by serving smaller portions of food because there are many people who do not have enough to eat while I waste food. I will encourage my family the same too! I am a FOOD WASTE WARRIOR!
