There are lots of things that we can impart to our children as teachers. We strongly believe that children with positive values will have a bright future ahead.
A week prior to the school’s official launching of our SSDB, we sent out videos and stories about healthcare workers, elderly, persons with disabilities and children in need to our Nursery 2 to Kindergarten 2 children for them to have a glimpse and to raise awareness of what they will be learning and doing when school resumes.
And just this 12th of June, we officially commenced our SSDB by introducing and explaining our pledge. With this, they will be able to understand more and to inculcate in their hearts and minds the goals and objectives of this activity. The launching was done inside our individual classes with precautions and observance of social distancing measures.
The whole world is still fighting one opponent which is the Covid-19. Everyone of us plays our own part to fight the virus and there are selfless people who are in the frontline risking their lives fighting the virus to keep us safe and healthy; our medical personnels and healthcare workers.
On the same day, children in N2 to K2 made an appreciation card and messages for our frontliners. They drew nurses and doctors wearing masks and/or personal protective equipment. Some of them also drew scenarios wherein the nurses are beside the hospital beds with patients and wrote a message like “Thank you for helping us!”. Even with this simple message, we are hoping that this would cheer up our medical personnels.
In their own very simple and little way, they can make a change and difference.
