The centre have decided on the theme on Responsible Pet Ownership – Love Your Pets, to raise the children’s awareness of pets.
To start off the launch party and rouse up the crowd, a guest speaker, Samantha, was invited and she shared her experiences as a pet owner with the children. She brought her pet dog, Sasa, and shared many information with the children and parents. She shared about what dogs require daily; grooming, feeding, playing and exercising. Some tools were also shown and demonstrated, to help the children visualise.
The parents were introduced to the objectives and purpose of the project – to learn more about pets, to communicate how to care for pets and to demonstrate awareness and understanding of the responsibility of pet ownership.
Parents and children interacted with Sasa and posed many questions about grooming of pets and its diet.
The parents and children also participated in a craft activity – the making of a paper plate mask animal. They were provided with materials to create the pet of their choice.
To end off the event, parents and children promoted the event by taking photos at the photobooth! To kick start the fund-raising project, they were requested to donate a minimum sum and received a Polaroid photo in return.
Parents were also given the opportunity to engage and interact with other parents as they were enjoying their refreshments!
The launch party went well and we were glad to see the parents and children enjoying themselves!
