Last year, 6 June 2017, Greenland Childcare @ Kallang had a ‘Parents’ Day’ celebration with the theme: “Kindness Starts with Me”. Children showed simple acts of kindness that were caught in videos and photos by their parents at home and was pasted up in our Greenland Kindness Tree. It was extended to our Annual Year-End Christmas celebration in the spirit of giving to the community. We had a silent auction of child produced art and crafts and the proceeds from that auction were presented to Touch Community Services.
This year, we would like to inculcate more in children good values like caring & sharing, develop in them passion & knowledge to contribute to society. We are more than delighted to embark on the SSDB project for 2018. Our children will learn to be mindful of their actions and how it will affect others. Last 24 March 2018 during our Parents’ Workshop, we had a briefing and sharing to our parents about what SSDB is all about. SSDB envisions and promotes character strengths that we would like to instil in our children. Greenland Childcare @ Kallang is very excited to join the SSDB with the theme: ‘Mindfully Giving Tree’.
We are looking forward to more enriching and meaningful experiences throughout our SSDB journey. Being mindful of one’s actions is the utmost importance as “No one can do everything but everyone can do something”.
