On 17th June, we went on a field trip to Green Circle Eco Farm, an organic farm. The students were introduced to caring for the environment by experiencing how the organic farm managed their waste through recycling, and how they managed pests in natural, environmentally friendly ways.
Frogs and toads help to control the mosquito population. Lemongrass, which is grown in the farm, is a natural mosquito repellent.
Various soil components and compost, a product of recycling waste plant material.
Planting herbs. Children learnt to plant and water herbs which will come in handy for the next part of their project when they plant vegetables in the school garden.
