Singapore is often described as a melting pot of diverse cultures. Yet, we are also a community that strives to preserve its unique culture and traditions, and appreciate and respect that of others. In March 2018, the children of Faith Kindergarten began a journey of learning about the different cultures in Singapore as part of the Start Small Dream Big project.
In Chinese tradition, the Chinese patchwork quilt(百纳被)is made up of many pieces of cloths gathered from family and friends. The putting together of the pieces signifies abundant blessings and the different relationships with one another.
Two of our lovely grandmothers showed us how to prepare the pieces of fabrics
which the children had collected for the project.
