ALL ABOUT LOVE
The children discussed about what love is and how it feels to love someone or something. They discussed about how they could use their bodies to show love and how they could also do so through actions. They talked about helping others, making crafts or gifts and showing acts of love through body gestures.
The children enjoyed the art activities to create a representation of love. They painted, wrote and made hearts. During the process, they talked about the ways they would show love such as ‘helping mummy with the chores’, ‘making cards for friends’, ‘taking care of family’ and ‘cook for everyone’.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
In line with the value of love, the children made a gift for their mother. They were especially focused during the process and talked about the different things their mother loved. Different types of gifts were made; they were trinket trays, necklaces and cards!
The children printed their hands onto the clay, traced and cut it out before painting it. They also made a pendant necklace to complete the set. So much love was put into the creation of the gift.
“Roses are red, violets are blue. There’s no mum in the world as great as you.” The children handmade and painted paper flowers for their mother. Along with it, they made cards to express their love for them.
The children handmade a tassel necklace for their mother. They thought hard about the colours their mother like and chose them. Learning a new skill was not easy but they persevered and weaved a tassel using just a marker and a keychain.
The children anticipated giving out the handmade gifts. It was a pleasure to see the smiles on their mother’s face upon receiving the gifts!
