Start Small, Dream Big 2022!
EduGarden Discovery launched this year’s SSDB last April with the theme “Our Family, Our Community”. This year’s focus is about Care. Care for the family, friends, neighbours and community.
Children were introduced to SSDB and talked about what is in the community and discussed about ways on showing care to others through simple gestures. They were introduced to the song “ I Care For My Family” and learnt to sing the song too. Children had meaningful sharing of ideas on how to show care to others through the family values picture cards. Through pictures, children understood that even the simple act of care can make a difference to everyone; to their parents, siblings, friends and neighbours.Children read the story “Happy Birthday, Dawn!” to understand deeper about the family values- care and love.
As we celebrated Mother’s Day last 6th May, we took the opportunity to make fruit kebabs for their mummies to facilitate and reinforce what we learnt about care and love.
