This year Shalom SSDB was launched on 26 April. Through the story of ‘A Good Samaritan’, children learned to love not just the people that they already know, but also their ‘neighbours’ - those who need help. In the following week, children were busy bringing boxes from home and decorating them. Their parents were busy too. Some went to supermarket or online to purchase daily needs for the elderly at Evergreen Senior Activity Centre. Those who were not able to shop, they donated money for daily meals for them. And some, donated money to Dorcas Home to raise fund to help buy a van.
All in all, the school collected $3,191.00 from the generous parents.
That was not all. 2 children with their mummy helped to pack all the daily essentials into the boxes that made/decorated by the children.
Another 3 pairs of parents and their child took turn to deliver the boxes to the Evergreen Senior Activity Centre in Tampines.
We were grateful to all the parents, children and staff that made this Project Good Sam a success.
