In conjunction with “Start Small Dream Big” (SSDB) 2021 by ECDA, our school collaborated with Singapore Kindness Movement Campaign on a project called “Love and Care for The Elderly!” to encourage our children to show love, care and kindness to the elderly and find ways to give back to society!
In this journey, the children took the opportunity to share with one another how important their grandparents are to them and express how they can show their love to their grandparents. From helping their grandparents at home to just spending precious quality time with them, the children learn about empathy and how a small act of kindness may actually mean something big to someone else!
Every level of children in Little Green House participated in various craft activities to make something wonderful as token of love and gratitude. See how creative and attentive they are when using different materials to give to their grandparents!
They have explored other ways of helping and showing kindness to the elderly who are in need in Singapore and how we can give back to them by reading books and participating in guided role play!
Finally, our school decided to do a food donation drive to an eldercare home in Yishun (All Saints Home) where we will work together with parents to collect necessary food items to distribute to the eldery who are under their care this June onwards. We thank the parents for their contribution and support to this campaign!
Like many things, kindness is a quality that children learn over time and through practice. Let’s all keep on encouraging them to do small acts of kindness each day to make this world a more positive place!
