After the sharing on Pongal that was held in January, teachers further enriched children’s understanding of grains in the Indian community by introducing a famous delicacy, Thosai, that is made by using grinding rice grains.
On 9 March 2020, Teacher Sasikala demonstrated the steps in making Thosai as well as the machines and equipment used to ensure that the better is smooth and flavourful.
Some of the children also shared their experiences of eating Thosai in hawker centres or at home.
Children then had an opportunity to taste the Thosai with some chutney; and some even returned for more!
