On 22 January 2020, children were given an opportunity to observe the practices and custom of the Chinese culture, especially during Chinese New Year.
Through videos and sharing about Nian, children better understand the story behind Chinese New Year and why it is celebrated. They also listened to the sound of the firecrackers that is usually heard during the celebration.
Children then took turns to exchange greetings with their peers in Chinese, such as when handing out the hangbao and giving the oranges.
Aside from that, children also observed and felt the delicacies that are usually served on Chinese New Year, such as fruits and dumplings.
