For SSDB project this year, our centre will be embarking on ‘Kindness Starts with Me’ project.
We would like to inculcate and encourage kindness among students. We would like to emphasize on being “caring” and “helpful” towards the community.
On the launching day, we took photos of children together with their parents or grandparents during arrival time. Parents were given a note to inform them with regards to the photo taking. Most of our parents and grandparents showed great participation!
Following that, the K1 and K2 children gather together and was briefed by the teacher on the SSDB project. Teacher introduced the topic on kindness and get children to share their prior knowledge and experiences on being helpful and caring towards others.
After the discussion, children walked around the school environment to promote the kindness project by greeting and taking photos with the people in the community.
In this picture, children showed great excitement to take photo with the cleaner working at the school compound. The children greeted the cleaner and thanked him for making the environment clean.
The children also get to take photo with some passer-by and at the same time shared with them about their kindness project. Children greeted the passer-by and also welcomed them for dropping by the school compound.
Overall, both children and teachers had a great time launching the project and looking forward to embark on it!
