On 3 April 2017, the children joined in the island-wide launch of the ‘Start Small Dream Big’ 2017. After much brainstorming with the children, it had been decided that this year, our centre will focus on raising environmental awareness in everyone; in school, at home and in the community.
Prior to the launch, the teachers worked hand-in-hand to make the project launch a success. They painted the wall as a SSDB banner and decorated it with huge flowers using recycled magazines.
During the virtual launch of the project, Ms Aileen, the coordinator for the project, briefed the children on the significance of SSDB and also the activities planned.
After which, the children went back to their classrooms and creatively made cards with their personal pledges as ‘Earth warriors’, which were then displayed on the SSDB banner as reminders of their pledge made.
