In the last 3 months, the children had gain a greater insights on how we can show kindness not just to people who are in need, but also to anyone we see in our everyday lives.
We have various activities implemented in our classroom and one of them is the Jar of Stars. For every kind deed a child carry out, one kindness star will be placed in our jar. Our aim is to accomplish as much kind deeds as we could over the few months and review our Jar of Stars at the end of the project.
Finally, the wait is over! Our jar of stars are fully topped with the colourful stars. Everyone were thrilled and happy with how far we have come!
As part of our collaboration with Lion Home for Elders, the K1 and K2 children have come up with a dance performance for the Elderly and prepared a small care package for them! Our care package includes a handmade soap done by our K1s. I hope the elderly find them useful! Due to the covid-19 restriction, we had our performance videoed and sent it over to them. The students rehearsed well and truly want to make the elderly day with their awesome performance!
Let’s take a look at them in action :)
Lastly, our take home activities. After all that we have learned in the classroom, we surely do not want children to leave them here! We encourage each and single one of our preschoolers to continue to spread a smile and the act kindness everywhere they go. They can do so by referring to the kindness checklist! Reconnecting with their overseas grandparents and relatives was what most of the families did! I am glad that they showed care and concern in the midst of this pandemic and put a smile on their face.
A big reminder: A little act of kindness goes a long long way!!!
Enjoy the pictures and see you again next year!
