As part of our SSDB project with the theme “Healthy We, Healthy Me” we encourage the N1 children to eat healthy snacks by making their own egg sandwich with lettuce. They were invited to wash their hands first then they were introduced to the ingredients like boiled eggs, wholemeal bread, mayonnaise and lettuce. The children were facilitated in mashing the eggs, adding in the mayonnaise and spreading it to the wholemeal bread then topped with lettuce. They are then encouraged to taste and eat their healthy egg sandwich.
The children were engaged in an art activity that is in line with the SSDB’s theme, “Healthy Me, Healthy We.” They were introduced to different fruits and vegetables. The N1 children were asked of their favourite fruits or vegetables and encouraged to elaborate why. They were then given a chance to have a cut out of their favourite fruit or vegetable to do the bubble printing. The children were encouraged to place their fruit or vegetable template upside down onto the bubble wrap with paint.
In this activity, the children were engaged in a dance with the song “Fruit Shake.” As part of our SSDB Program, we incorporated dance for the children to strengthen their body. They followed the steps and moved their body accordingly. The children were also encouraged to drink fruit juices when possible.
