”No act of Kindness no matter how small is ever wasted”
The K1 & K2 children were very excited as they waited for their grandparents to come to school that evening. The grandparents were invited over for tea as well as to grace the opening ceremony of Start Small Dream Big for our centre.
Upon having them settled comfortably on their seats, DCL Ms Syikin and Lead Tr Lai laoshi started the event by introducing themselves and shared a little bit about the children’s choice of project and on why they wanted to tap on the elderly.
We started off with a group photo and reciting of the C.A.R.E pledge together. The grandparents were served some tea time cake as well as some hot chrisenthymum tea by the K1 children.
While enjoying their tea, the children from K1 and K2 performed a few songs to entertain them and show their appreciation for their presence in gracing this event.
The next activity on line was in teaching their grandchildren about their old childhood games such as five stones, zero point, eraser flag game, making of paper ball and paper aeroplane too! Both generations had massive fun as they all interacted and engaged themselves in this interesting activity.
Upon the end of the launch, each grandparent were given a certificate of participation as a token of our appreciation towards them. They shared their joy and wished for more opportunities where both the elderly and child are able to learn from one another.
