On the 9th of July 2020, the K1 and K2 children of Bright Juniors Pte Ltd (Woodlands) had their SSDB 2020 Launch Party. It started with a Powerpoint presentation where the children understood more about the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected millions worldwide. They learnt the term, ‘frontliners’ and why and how these people bear tremendous importance in helping to take care of the Covid-19 patients and/or keeping others safe from this deadly virus during this pandemic.
In line with the centre’s focus on showing our appreciation for frontliners and also, caring for our Earth by practising the 3Rs, the children created medals using recyclable food lids for their parents. Although their parents may not be ‘actual frontliners’ working in hospitals or clinics, they are their children’s first and most vital frontliners as they also work tirelessly juggling between taking care of their children while working from home. The parents definitely deserve a medal in recognition of their efforts in keeping their children safe and healthy at home! Thus, the children designed a medal with the words, ‘Thank you Mummy/Daddy for being my frontliner’ to express their utmost thanks for taking good care of them during this pandemic.
