Earlier in the year before COVID-19 hit our shores, children from K1 and K2 classes wanted to show their appreciation to their centre attendants. They wanted to do something for the centre attendants who have always been diligently cleaning their classrooms and cooking delicious food for them.
After discussing, they decided to make a refreshing drink for the aunties to beat the heat as they work. Some children suggested milo while others suggested ice lemon tea and chrysanthemum tea. In the end, the children decided to make a refreshing honey lemon drink for the aunties.
Children worked together to prepare the drink. They took turns to squeeze the lemons, poured the honey and stirred the drink.
While some of them were helping to make the drink, other children were preparing the cups. Children decorated the cups with their drawings and wrote some words of appreciation that they wanted to say to the aunties.
Once they were done, the children helped to pour the drink in the cups. With bright smiles on their faces, they personally delivered the drinks to the aunties. The centre attendants were pleasantly surprised by the children’s kind gesture!
At the end, children shared that they were very happy to be able to show their appreciation and spread kindness to the aunties.
