This is the very first time our Kindergarten 1 & 2 children of Global Tots @Admiralty are embarking on the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) 2017 Project.
In order to increase the children’s awareness of an inclusive society (where people of all ages and walks of life can live together in harmony), our children brainstormed together on what they can do to show love and care for their community and friends. In the midst of this project, they also had story-telling sessions and discussions related to ‘kindness’.
Our enthusiastic children also pledged their commitment in working together to spread kindness around like confetti, in the community.
So in support of their ‘kindness’ movement, our Kindergarten 1 & 2 children visited the Orange Valley Senior Activity Centre. They spent precious time with the elderly leading them in morning exercise, hands-on art & craft, participating in creative games, giving the elderly a preview of their concert performances and even serving them refreshments too!
Our supportive parents also played an important part in this project, by donating recycled materials meant for the art & craft. The elderly were all smiles and they had so much fun bonding with the children.
Global Tots sincerely thanks them - Orange Valley Personnel and Senior Citizens for giving us the opportunity to inculcate the values of empathy and care in our children, from a young age. It was a great learning journey for the children, and we ain’t gonna stop….
MAE ONG (Parents of Lionel Ong) : This is really something meaningful for the kids and thank you for the effort.
ELENA YANG (K1 child) : I enjoyed myself today. I want to play games with them again.
