9 March 2020
Prior to the circuit breaker, the children were discussing the current affairs topic of the COVID-19 virus. Teachers discussed with them the importance of keeping clean and social responsibility.
Our children also learnt the importance of keeping the environment clean to reduce the spread of germs.
Many front liners like the estate cleaners have been doing their part as well in keeping our community clean.
To show our appreciation to them, the school decided to make our own hand sanitisers for the heroes of our neighbourhood.
Additionally, we wanted to give the sanitisers to the most vulnerable group, our elderly residents and also other people in the community.
Our hand made sanitisers were made using Isopropyl Alcohol, Aloe Vera Gel, Distilled Water, Citronella oil, Tea Tree oil, Lavender oil, and Winter Fruits oil.
With the help from the teachers and the principal, the children made 100 bottles of 60ml Hand Sanitisers over the span of 3 days.
On 11 March, the teachers and principal helped the children distribute on their behalf the hand sanitisers to the seniors at PCF Sparklecare, unsung heroes who have silently contributed to the community and to the members of the public.
