Hoping to play our part in battling the COVID-19 Pandemic in Singapore, we began our Start Small Dream Big Project 2020 in June 2020, with the theme, ‘Small Hands and A Big Heart Within A Bottle’. The project aimed to help our children to develop values such as kindness, care, generosity and compassion. The children created child-friendly hand sanitizers for their personal use by blending alcohol-free lavender and eucalyptus essential oils, aloe vera and saline solution with teacher’s facilitation. They also made extra bottles of the hand sanitizers to present to the Spottiswoode Park Residents’ Committee. Bottles were placed outside the school for public use, as the children’s way of sharing and giving back to the community. The children also approached parents during drop off and pick up time, helping to spray the hand sanitizers for them.
