Another year, another opportunity for our talented learners’ Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative to show compassion and understanding among our children. The SSDB initiative is part of the Early Childhood Development Agency’s (ECDA) efforts. It encourages preschool to create authentic platforms for children to innovate, problem-solve, and use their unique strengths to help others.
This year’s SSDB theme is Showing Love and Gratitude. We turned this initiative into a hands-on learning experience that shows kindness, care, and empathy among our young learners.
In our 3rd year of participitating in SSDB, we held a Parent’s Day Tea Party at My Talent Childcare and organised a fundraising event through family craft bonding activity.
We encouraged the parents to support their children by purchasing tote bags and to design it with a National Day Theme such as Singapore Icons/scenes - Merlion, Flyer, Gardens By The Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Fireworks or structures. The funds that we collected from the sale will be contributed to The Children’s Aid Society.
After collecting funds, the staff at My Talent Childcare purchased food items for the residents of Children’s Aid Society Melrose Home at Boonlay Avenue.
The children sorted out the donated items with boundless enthusiasm, packed them in recycled bags and inserted friendly notes to the residents in the Home.
A big thank you to everyone who participated especially to the parents who supported and contributed materials needed for this project.
Your generosity and support means everything to us.
