In conjunction with the Kindness Week, the children decided to make an artwork with the Elders. We began the activity with the children performing the ‘Kindness’ song.
Following that, we proceeded with the Kindness activity.
The children and elders were put in groups and each group were given a board drawn with a heart shape. The elders and children were briefed using the crepe and colour papers to decorate the heart. Upon completion, they used markers to pen down kind words on the board.
It was a fulfilling activity for everyone. Children express their word of kindness by writing it down on the board and the elders got the chance to showcase their talent in origami before pasting it on the heart. Children and teachers got to learn new skill shared by the elders.
Such small steps taken by children and elders will influenced the adults to be more proactive and gracious.
