Sharing is Caring

Our Start Small Dream Big event has come to an end, yet the lessons learnt will last for a lifetime. Caring and sharing is forever. Now let us take a look at the journey we have travelled throughout the months.

Celebrating World Water Day was a good initiative and opportunity for the children to be aware of less developed countries which do not have access to clean water easily, unlike Singapore. Parents were also involved to talk about how they can play a part to educate of their children saving water at home. They then sent some photos of their children saving water at home to their teachers.

In addition, we also brought the children to Sengkang Floating Wetlands to educate them on water conservation and the importance of keeping our reservoirs clean.

In conjunction with Singapore World Water Day, employee from Henkel visited out centre to conduct a lesson on the subject of “sustainability” with the children. This initiative is supported by PUB.

They were spilt into small groups and shared with the children how they can make their individual contribution to “sustainability” in their daily lives.

In May, we involved in Singapore Kindness Movement. Teacher discussed with the children and came out with the idea to make cookies to give away for the hawkers. This is not only to thank them for selling the delicious food to us, but also for keeping the stalls clean and hygienic.

In June, we celebrated Father’s Day by organising a Father’s Day Charity Bazaar!

Whilst daddies were participating in outdoor activities, mummies were busying setting up stalls in preparation for the bazaar.

With everyone’s contribution, we raised a humble sum for an old folks home. Appreciated parents for being so readily involved in their child’s development.

As part of the above campaign, we brought the children to the old folks’ home. We brought along all the food donations generously donated by the parents and also the monetary donations raised during the charity bazaar.

We are glad we brought smile to their faces through interaction with the children and also a short performance prepared by the children.

This would not be possible without the immense support from the parents for this initiative. Although this might just be a simple gesture of kindness, but we all left with our hearts filled with warmth that day.
