On the 10th of May 2022, Skool4Kidz Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park (SKC) celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Hari Raya Aidilfitri is celebrated as an accomplishment in completing a month of fasting and overcoming personal struggles during the month of Ramadhan. It is also a time of forgiveness and strengthening of bonds amongst family members and relatives. With that in mind, everyone in SKC celebrated Hari Raya filled with activities and glee.
On this day, children donned colourful ethnic costumes and paraded in their outfits. They excitedly showed their ethnic costumes to their peers and teachers as soon as they entered school. The teachers took the time to share about the children’s ethnic costumes that were donned too, emphasising on its details and type.
Children were engaged in various art and craft activities across all levels as they created items symbolic to Hari Raya, like the ketupat and lights. After completing their art crafts, the children showcased and shared about it with their peers.
The children were encouraged to bring various traditional Malay snacks for the celebration, and many came to school with the snacks too. As the snacks were shared amongst their peers, the children had the chance to taste the various traditional Malay snacks that is often eaten during Hari Raya.
From the Hari Raya celebration, the children learnt on the importance of sharing happiness and love amongst their family and friends. They indeed enjoyed themselves today and went home with big smiles & full tummies!
