It was a bright Saturday morning when a group of excited children and their parents gathered at East Coast Beach, ready for a special mission—cleaning up the beach to help protect the ocean and its creatures. Before the big clean-up began, the children sat on a mat as their teacher read them a story called “Fish” . The story was about Finn and his dog who saved sea animals by keeping the beach clean. When the story ended, the teachers smiled and said, “Now, it’s time for us to be brave protectors, just like in the story! But first, let’s get moving with our favourite song—Ocean Jam!” The music began, and everyone stood up, swaying and dancing along. The kids twirled and wiggled their arms like sea jelly, while the parents laughed, copying their moves. Once the dancing was done, the real work began. Armed with gloves, trash bags and tweezers the families spread out across the beach.
In between their cleaning, the teachers announced a fun activity to keep the energy up—a Beach Scavenger Hunt! The children were given lists with things to find, like seaweed, a smooth rock, a piece of driftwood, and even a seashell. The children raced around, excitedly checking off items as they. After hours of hard work and a lot of fun, the beach looked cleaner, and the trash bags were full. Before leaving, the families gathered for a group photo, their smiles as bright as the ocean behind them. They had learned how small actions can have a big impact on the environment.
