Earth Day is an annual event held every 22nd of April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. And since one of our core values in Skool4Kidz is care and concern for everyone, including the Earth, SKC made sure to participate in this important celebration. Several projects and activities geared towards advocating and caring for Earth have been lined up for this week-long celebration. There were recycling projects, taking part in Earth Hour, cleaning up the park, storytelling sessions, and more!
Children listened to stories and songs that taught them the importance of caring for the Earth and how we could do our part in this mission.
K1 and K2 went to our very own riverside park to conduct a clean-up drive. Meanwhile, parents donated recyclables which were then transformed into a tree sculpture.
On the 20th of April, the entire campus conducted “Earth Hour”, wherein air conditioning units were switched off from 9 am to 12 pm to symbolise our commitment to saving Earth. Children were taught the rationale of how saving electricity helps the Earth. This translated to willing hearts enduring one morning to be a bit warmer than usual. Children took it with open hearts striving it with wide-open glass doors and electric or hand fans for the events.
The week culminated with a recyclables fashion show and some art projects. All these final products would then serve as our visual reminders of the essence of Earth Day.
Many beautiful artworks were made using a variety of recycable materials from newspapers, toilet rolls, plastic bottles, bottle caps and so on! Amazinb job everyone!
Our children has shown tremendous efforts and shared many amazing ideas on how, together, we can save the world. Let’s keep our oceans blue, the planet green and our animals safe.
Let’s nurture the nature so that we can have a better future!
