The children learnt to recognise that there are differences in people’s physical attributes and abilities.
‘Care’ for community will also means to be able to understand how differently abled people see things differently.
Children and teacher had 2 activities.
The objective was for children to enhance the use of their other senses to help them see.
The first activity was, I Can’t See.
First, children were blindfolded. Teacher guided children to use their fingers to feel items placed in the feely tin and guess it.
The second activity was, ’Feel the Rainbow’.
Children were divided into 2 groups. Each group will create a rainbow using 1 material to represent 1 colour. Once the rainbow crafts are completed, children felt each texture of the rainbow and described each texture.
The objectives of both activities inculcated more awareness in the children in caring for the differently abled in the community.
