Little Atlas Preschool is thrilled to be back with our annual Start Small, Dream Big (SSDB) campaign. As educators and parents, we all want our children to grow up to be kind, compassionate, and responsible individuals. This is why SSDB is an important initiative for us as a school, as it allows us to instill good values in our children from a young age.
This year, our theme is ‘A Hero for Everyone‘. We aim to inspire our little innovators to become heroes by extending their helping hands to everyone in need and by realizing that their small actions can have a big impact on the world.
To launch this event, in collaboration with North East Community Development Council, Little Atlas planned to distribute 320 care packs of daily necessities to benefit the senior residents of the North East district. We are tapping into our vast amount of parents and children as volunteers to help source, purchase, pack and distribute the packs.
A pre-SSDB briefing was conducted to provide all parents involved with a clear understanding of what the SSDB project is, what it entails, and how they can be involved. Our project aims to encourage our little innovators to take an active role in their community and help those in need.
Together, we can plan, organize, and implement various community service activities throughout the project period. Parents were also informed of how they can be engaged in the project. This can include volunteering to assist with the activities, donating resources or materials, or simply providing encouragement and support to their child.
Overall, a pre-SSDB briefing is a critical step in ensuring that all parents involved have a clear understanding of what the SSDB project entails and how they can support their child’s involvement. By providing this information upfront, parents will be better equipped to support their child’s participation and ensure the success of the project.
