Children were invited to plant a seedling from the Mother of Thousands Plant into a pot and present it to their mummy for Mother’s Day. Mother of Thousands is used to represent a person’s strength and endurance. Therefore, we would like to use this plant as a gift to the strongest women, our mummy! Children learnt how to re-pot the plant, the different types of soil used to nourish the plant. They ensured that their plants are watered and receive enough sunlight everyday. Children carefully took care of the plants for two weeks and observed their growth before presenting it to their mummies.
Children learnt how to take care of a plant through this series of activities and also related it to how their mummy took time and effort to nurture them and watch them grow. During the Mother’s Day weekend, children also brought home their Families For Life book to work together with their parents and learn more about family values like ‘Respect’.
Here’s us wishing mummies all around a “Happy Mother’s Day!”
