“Plant smiles, grow laughter and harvest love” that is the tagline of our project this year. Children were given the opportunity to show off their green thumbs by planting different vegetables and herbs, which would be then used in a dish and shared with the community.
Children prepared special sandwich with the vegetables that were planted by them. They also took the opportunity to prepare special sandwiches which were to be shared with the older generation at the senior activity centre.
Happy faces all around as the young and old spent some meaningful time together. Even with the huge generation gap, both seniors and children had a lot of fun and children also learnt an important lesson about giving back to the society - which is the main objective of this whole project.
