For the fourth and final installment of our SSDB 2017 project, we came back to St. Luke’s Eldercare Tampines Centre to celebrate our nation’s 52nd birthday and to deliver our goodie bags to them.
When we arrived at the centre, we were greeted by their warm smiles and eagerly holding onto their flags. It seemed that they have been waiting for our arrival. The children lined up in front of the group and started to sing and dance to songs for them.

Happy Birthday
Everyone enjoyed watching the children dancing and singing with excitement and pride. Some of the elderly sang the Chineae songs together with the music. We were glad that all of our hardwork in rehearsing the songs had came to fruition.

After the performance, the children did some exercises with the music conducted by the centre staff. Although they were exhausted from the performance, they pressed on during the exercise. Good job guys!
Finally, towards the end of the event, we suprised the elderly with our goodie bags which we had prepared beforehand. The children gave out the goodie bags personally and they were personally thanked by them.
We hope that the elderly and the staff appreciated the donated goodies contributed by our families and children.
Although this was our last instalment of our SSDB 2017 project, this will not be the last time we visit them. We would like to thank St Luke’s Eldercare Tampines Centre for the continuous partnership with us over the years and opening up their doors to us. The children had learnt a valuable lesson about providing community service to the best of their abilities, such as singing, dancing and gift giving.
