Little Karung Guni @Work
The children saw a honk and a trolley outside the school. They were curious and wanted to find out more, so the teachers read the story “Karung Guni Boy”.
While having lessons, the children heard a karung guni calling out for old clothes. The teacher went out and asked if he could share more about his job to the children. He brought in his equipment and shared his job with the children.
The children and teachers discussed and brainstormed more about the project.
They brought along pamphlets and went door to door to share their project with the residents.
The children brought big bags and trolleys to collect old newspapers and clothing from the residents. The parents also donated bags of clothing and newspapers.
The funds were chanelled to Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support (Babes).
