For our SSDB project this year, our centre plans to continue with our last year’s intergenerational project. To match SSDB’s theme for this year, we retitled our project, “From Home to the Community: Little Hearts of Gold”. ‘Home’, is where children spend quality time with their grandparents through take home activities. Our first take home activity was the grandparents’ craft. Children and grandparents worked together to create the craft and have meaningful interactions in the process. ‘Community’ is more for the older children where they befriend the seniors through interactive activities via Zoom platform similar to last year.
Again, our centre is collaborating with Singapore Kindness Movement and Agency for Integrated Care. We will also be collaborating with a new partner, Singapore Red Cross Junior for our K1 and K2 children.
Parents, grandparents and children were invited to our virtual launch party on 23rd April 2022, Saturday morning. They were introduced to Start Small Dream Big, and enjoyed video montages of the SSDB banner making, take home activity crafts and performances by the children for their grandparents. At the end of the session, we officially launched the project by counting down from 10 to 1 and shouting “Start Small Dream Big!” together.
