It is necessary for young children to inculcate the habits of saving water. They need to be aware of the global water crisis that is currently happening all around the world for them to value water as they grow up.
As we continued with our ‘Let’s save water’ project, children learnt more on how to save water through the games like sorting out the pictures and classified under the Do’s and Don’ts.
Children acted out as ‘Save Water Ambassador’ to spread the message and reminded each other to turn off the tap when soaping their hands and using half flush in the toilet.
Children practiced singing the song ‘Turn off the Tap!” from Water Wally video with actions. This catchy song taught them the ways to save water when brushing their teeth, taking a shower and washing their hands.
Understanding the water cycle is essential as a stepping stone to ignite children’s interest in water. Children could understand the water cycle better by doing the simple experiment.
Lastly, not forgetting our mini garden, the children continues to water the mini garden with the rainwater collected.
It is indeed a meaningful experience for our children to learn about water conservation.
