SSDB Project Title:
“Little Acts, Big Hearts”- Kindness to Family and Environment
“Little Acts, Big Hearts” is our “Start Small Dream Big” project by our K1 and K2 students this year, which revolves around nurturing kindness towards family members, friends and the environment. These young hearts have aimed to demonstrate how even minor acts of kindness can contribute to a healthier family dynamic, friendships and a more sustainable world.
The K1 children participated in creating ‘The Kindness Tree’, where they were encouraged to create handmade cards and crafts with messages of kindness for their family members. Through various activities, children were encouraged to learn about building a sustainable environment by reusing and reducing recycling things at home.
The K2 children created a ‘Friendship Recipe’ card and crafted ‘The Family Pledge’. These activities encouraged them to understand simple gestures, such as saying “thank you” or “please,” which fostered communication skills, appreciation and empathy among friends and family. While creating their “Friendship Recipe”, children believed in “Boiling the challenges and Simmering with Patience”.
These simple yet impactful initiatives enhanced family bonding through shared activities, strengthening family unity. Children understood the significance of showing respect, compassion, listening and trusting one another.
Through the “Little Acts, Big Hearts” project, the K1 and K2 children, with their enthusiastic and genuine efforts, have shown us the way to a world where compassion and caring for the environment go hand in hand.
