As May is Kindness Movement Month, PLMC Covenant Kindergarten’s children donated groceries for the rental flat residents near the kindergarten as a Community Blessing Project.
Our children donated groceries from 2 May to 13 May. The response from the children were overwhelming and we were able to bless all the residents in the block.
Sharing by the children in their participation:
“I am excited about the opportunity to share with people who have needs”. (K2 Tristan)

“I enjoy this kindness project as I can show God’s love to other families”. (K1 Grace)
“I feel happy that I can buy groceries to share with people who need them”. (K2 Hannah)
“I am happy that I can do it with my jie jie, pa pa and mommy”. (PN Sarah - K2 Hannah’s sister)
“I am excited to participate in the project, I reminded my mummy to get the groceries when she goes to the supermarket”. (K2 Matthew)
Sharing of the project by the parents:
“As a dad of a 6 year old, I’ve seen firsthand how helping others through charity can have a positive impact on my child. It’s heartwarming to see my son develop a sense of empathy and a desire to make a difference in the world.
Through the ‘Start Small, Dream Big’ Project, my child has learned about the importance of helping those in need. I’m proud to see my child develop the character in being more compassionate, kind, and responsible.
I do encourage other parents to involve their children in this act of charity. It’s a great way to teach children about empathy, gratitude, and the importance of making a difference in the world “. (K2 Micah’s dad)
“My children were very excited to be part of the PLMC Covenant Kindergarten Community Project. We made it a little family activity where we went to the supermarket to purchase the items. My older son in K2 raced through the supermarket collecting all the “items” on the list for himself, as well as, for his little sister in PN. We had fun packing them into bags together and the kids excitedly shared that the items were for the families at “Blk 8”!
We are thankful for this opportunity to serve the community in this small way and as parents, we really love how the children are exposed (at this age) to take active steps to love others. Thank you, teachers, for organizing this meaningful initiative for the children”. (K2 Adam & PN Kate mum)
“As parents, we are appreciative of the school’s effort in helping the children to put into practice the values that are taught”. (K1 Grace’s mum)
“It is a good experience for our children to think about those who are in need. Our children learn about kindness and generosity. It doesn’t take very much to start, but it does require for them to do their part (i.e. they inform Papa and Mommy about this project and they were very excited to be part of it)
Perhaps for the next round, we could get them started on saving up money first so that they can use the money they have saved for such projects”.
