This year, our SSDB project theme focus on ‘family and friends’ and to show our appreciation and care for our loved ones we have given a title to our project as ‘Family and Friends are Hidden Treasures, Seek them and Enjoy their Riches’ We hope that this project will encourage our children to learn how to respect, care, and love their family and friends by engaging them through planned activities. Children from PG, Nursery, K1, and K2 will participate in this year’s SSDB project. Prior to our launch, children from K1 and K2 worked together and created superb banners to denote that we are embarking on this meaningful project.
Activities:
-
Book Reading - Children listened to the story ‘Happy Birthday Dawn!’ wherein they learnt the value of love. The story talks about when Dawn could not wait for her sixth birthday party! Everything is prepared and it is just one more day to her party. Then, the unthinkable happens - a terrible storm hits and Dawn’s party is cancelled. Yet, in her great disappointment, Dawn discovers a treasure about ‘love’ K1 children listened attentively and answered questions prior to the story. They showed love by doing a short skit after they listened to the story.
-
Family Tree - As our theme talks about family as well. We planned an activity which involves parents participation by making a family tree. We collected all the family trees, created a collage and displayed them at our SSDB corner. We thank parents for their participation and involvement. Children also learned about the roots of their families.
