Our PGPN class had a field trip to Fish @ Bugis+ to catch some fishes to be kept as pets at home.
Through caring for these fishes, the children learn to be kind to animals and be responsible for taking care of them. This trip was a great opportunity for us to reinforce to children the importance of kindness, not only to people but to other living creatures as well.
The N1 and K1/K2 classes on the other hand headed over to the NEWater plantation for a guided tour to learn more about Water For All: Save, Care For, Have Fun with Water.
This is in-line with our theme on Kindness in the Environment - Caring for the precious water we obtain from our environment.
Through this trip, the children learnt about the importance of 3Rs and that every act counts when it comes to water conservation. An act of conversation is also an act of kindness as we do our part to ensure that Mother Earth precious resource- water is being used in a responsible manner.
The process of “NEWwater” was intriguing for everyone and we can’t wait to taste how NEWater taste like.
At the end of the tour, the children brought back a bottle of NEWater and their very own mini rain garden as a memorabilia from the tour.
In the next few months, we will reach out to the community to participate in two community involvement programs so look out for it in our next story.
